I know it's cheesey and problematic, but when RuPaul ended episodes of RuPaul Drag Race by saying "If you can't love yourself, how the hell you gonna love someone else?" it meant something to me. I was in a terrible relationship that was precipitated by and led to a terribly low self esteem. I only met my current, loving partner after my self esteem started to improve. It doesn't have to be that way for everyone, of course, but that little ending quip resonated with me.
