A terrible translation is better than none if you can’t understand the native language. If that’s the only translator keeping up with the source material, it’s understandable that’s the one everyone follows.

Eh, like I said, there is an official translation, it's just a year behind. I'd rather wait a year for a good translation than read something that's confusing and misleading. What's the point of being up to date if what you're getting isn't even the real story?
