As someone who (doesn't post about it, but) lives like this, mostly it's the fact that I work from home full time. So for games on my phone, like Pokemon Masters EX, Colorful Stage, Fire Emblem Heroes, etc, I can just set it to auto play while I do my work. So that leaves me actually only needing to do my dailies on Genshin (and now Zenless Zone Zero, I dropped Star Rail...) which is a lot more manageable. The ability to spend on gacha so freely is really because I can't drink, so I'm never out at bars. I have a ton of disposal income compared to my friends from that single fact alone lol. Otherwise I'm just frugal in other places that matter less to me, like dining out.

Yeah, the amount of time spent depends 100% on whether a game has auto/sweeps or not. My main game has a sweep ability so once I've cleared a stage with all stars, I can just tap a button to instantly repeat it as many times as I have the stamina for. One of my other games doesn't have a sweep, but it does have auto so all I have to do is press a couple of buttons to repeat the stage. The only times I have to actually play myself are when clearing stages for the first time.

Do that on the first day of the event and then farming is basically just pressing buttons and sitting back and letting the game play itself.
