What tags do you always block when searching for fic on ao3?

OC and SI, obviously, but Modern AU too.

This is a 'depend on the fandom' one, because one of my old fandoms lead me to block the underage tags and my most recent one has a surprising amount of scat and watersports to block (thank goodness for the exclusion tag on AO3 now. I use to have to get creative with the search function before they installed that option).

Any version of: pregnancy/mpreg/eggpreg, trans character, Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics, modern AU, High School AU, College AU etc.,
Depending on the fandom, I have to add cannibalism, necrophilia, watersports

And because just excluding those tags is never enough to catch all the stuff people are too dumb to tag properly, my searchbar also has -"reader", -"trans", -"vagina", -"gender", -"afab", -"amab" and more.

Nobody is obligated to want to read untagged trans fetish content. Also, friendly reminder that a lot of trans people also filter this stuff out because it can trigger dysphoria. Be better.

PIV sex, vaginal sex, penis in vagina sex, rule 63, trans male character, trans character, reader, trans!specificnamecharacter, gender or sex swap, cis swap, alternate universe - gender changes, always a girl, alternate universe - always a different sex, and cunnilingus - all of those I block out and still run into boys with vaginas.

Yep, all of these and more. Had to add -"ussy" recently in hopes of catching all the weird new portmanteau names for fanon specific pussies.
And again, what I don't get is why they just refuse to tag it properly. It's not just so people who don't like it can filter it out, but people who DO want to read it CAN find it easier. It benefits everyone!

I don't ABO or mpreg. But -trans fic triggers my dysphoria. Sometimes it is untagged and woof.

I should say only smut fic with trans triggers me. Not non smut fic.

Definitely depends on the fandom and mood, but always and forever self-insert/reader. And almost always Modern Era or Modern Setting etc.

Lately I've added A/B/O tags to my block list.

Oh and for Witcher I block all Trans!Jaskier. I don't always black trans stuff (sometimes I specifically search it out) but for some reason I cannot stand it in Witcher fic and it was popping up a lot in my searches.

Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics and all the pregnancy ones.

My blacklist is way too long to copy and paste here, but if I take out all the pairings, it's mostly stuff like vaginal sex, trans male characters, anything to do with "reader", POV 2nd person, and abandoned work.

First Person, Second Person, self insert, character/reader tags.

Galadriel/Sauron (because that usually ends up being Rings of Power ship dynamic, and I very hate that version of the ship.

It depends on what I'm looking for a lot. If I'm reading torture/noncon/hurt fics, I'll usually block rape to love type tags. If I'm reading certain ships, I'll block out tags that are specific to versions of the dynamic that I hate and find really OOC. If I'm reading PWPs, I'll usually block out foot fetish tags, especially if it is femdom.

Very little, mostly if there's a ship I really don't care for and it pops up in the ship-tag I'm looking at with any frequency. And in very few fandoms a top/bottom dynamic I don't care for, but that's also not overly common as I mostly don't care.

Reader fic, first person, and humiliation.

I don't block tags in general bc it's way quicker for me to skim my pairing feeds, but won't read unfinished, wip, reader-insert, watersports and a few other kinks, some BDSM tags like CBT or sounding, dead dove: do not eat, PWP, any rpf character or pairing, always a different gender, oviposition, monsterfucking, sex pollen, fuck or die, stuffing/feeding, non sibling incest.

Back when I still watched 911 (might catch up one day, might not) I personally did ship Buck/Eddie pretty hard so IF they ever make it canon, I'd not be unhappy about it, BUT the fandom is so goddamn obnoxious that I kinda don't want them to... (BUT then we'll have to prepare for another giant biased discussion about queerbaiting in the end so everyone loses)

Genuine question. Is it queerbaiting if one of the characters has come out as bi and is currently still, to my limited knowledge, dating a man (just not to the other half of the ship)?

Would that be considered ship teasing then? Or is it still queerbaiting since the other half of the pair is presented as straight, though can be read ambiguously-ish?

Honestly from what I understand, the wank from buddie stans sounds so obnoxious I also hope that Buck's endgame pair is the dude he's dating and not Eddie lol. Just for the extreme meltdowns.

Depends. I block most of the tags mentioned in this thread. But sometimes I am just lazy. In some fandoms you don't get things I don't like too much so you just can ignore. In some it -readers everything. In some it -trans everything. And in some you just need to mute one author
