My kindergarten teacher thought I was a brat who hadn’t been disciplined enough. I had poor depth perception so I knocked things over sometimes, and I also didn’t understand questions that weren’t really questions. (“Would you like to pick your jacket up off the floor?” “No.”)

She didn’t need to hit me to make my life hell.

I’m willing to bet the kids under OP’s care feel the same way. That hatred radiates from people like that.

That was awful of your kindergarten teacher. Even if she did get frustrated because she thought you were misbehaving on purpose, she should never have let those frustrations out on you.

As far as OP goes, there's nothing suggesting that they're acting like your kindergarten teacher though. If anything, it sounds like they did one if the things your kindergarten teacher failed to you: find a coping mechanism that lets them let go of the frustration WITHOUT involving the children in any way.
