The easiest/simplest with no real downside is probably fraud. Easy enough to grab a friend and promise them $1 if they invest 1c then never pay them back.

If that removes all fraud from the world, including by shady megacorps and politicans and governments who are now either obliged to follow through with promises they make or unable to make promises they don't intend to follow through on, sounds like a good trade.

See I was thinking Littering would be the easiest to do but for the maximum reward.

Fraud is an interesting idea tho... trouble is it has to be a random person.

Still easy enough.

Is anyone going to miss 1 cent? Would you?

Fair, probably work out right enough.

But then, I think a lot of us have worked retail and found out what happens when a random customer is missing a single penny change. Some people it's not the amount, but the principal.

The change would make it so that magically never happens so you'd never have to deal with it again, though...

Sure. So I guess the question becomes "Are you willing to deal with one psychotically pissed off victim to get rid of all fraud?"

Sure, but who says the random will be psychotic? 99.99% of people aren't That Customer, I'll take my chances.

Fair. I doubt your maths honestly, my experience in the service industry makes me question if it's even on the good side of 50/50, but I resect taking the risk.

Yeah and if you drop $10 in front of them at the same time as you refuse them their promised $1 return on investment, maybe you can rid the world of litterbugs and fraud at the same time. Either you get your $10 back because they understand that sometimes investments don't work out, or they quietly pocket 10x what you promised them and keep quiet about it.

That's where my mind went as well. If I could trick one person into giving me their personal details, I might not even have to use them, and I'd get rid of scam phone calls forever!

I’m pretty sure that tricking someone’s grandma into giving you her credit card number and then not using that information isn’t actually illegal, just kind of shitty. You’re going to have to buy $10 worth of medical debt with that card.
