see, this is me. the only livestreams I've actively chosen to watch are people in Japan walking or biking, exploring an area I've never seen, and it's great when it's 2am cold and snowy here but lovely warm sunshine in Japan. but I don't use any chats so now they're talking to people in an invisible chat and asking about regulars' doings and it takes me right out, because it heightens the awkward parasocial quality of terminal online-ness.
