Looked this up, and,

1. Oh crap, I remember following that artist back in the dA days. Good for him for moving on to being an illustrator.

2. Yeah, this is... Honestly, everything I hate about modern attitudes on mental health in a nutshell. I sympathize with The Cat and can relate, but... People like The Cat are very hard to deal with, especially when it comes to falling in love with anyone who is kind, which is a trauma response that has ruined my relationships. Especially since in the full comic, The Cat copes so badly with other people having different emotional responses that they just... Runs away, just stays in their house, and stops talking to people. That's not a healthy way to live, as someone who wasted years hiding away because I thought I was "too different" to be understood, when that's just not true. I needed to mature and learn to understand people better, and manage my emotional responses to things. People like The Cat do too, I'm sorry.

Cool artist. Cute art. Bad values, IMO.

The end is the saddest, when The Cat gets *this close* to realizing maybe people react differently when you give them time and space to react to your overflowing emotions instead of needing a response and affirmation right away...!

And then doesn't, because then that'd make it the bad guy in the first half.

Yep. It just frames The Cat as the misunderstood good guy who wasn't appreciated, when that's a very self-centered response for them to have. It reads like a children's book validating unhealthy behavior.

DA but it kinda feels very.. nice-guy-ish, in a way.
