I hear you so hard on this. My mom is also a primary walker user (very rare good days she can get around with a cane).

The added frustration in my area is cobblestone seems to be the default trend thing so my mom has to be very careful maneuvering or her feet can be taken out from under her by an uneven stone (and does not help that she's gripping her handles so hard due to the rockiness that her hands/arms/shoulders end up hurting at the end of the day).

It got the point of being so bad in getting into some places we invested in a convertible rollator so that I can wheel her around or she can just have a sit to catch her breath.

We got a rollator for my mother in law for the same reason. The cane just wasn't cutting it for many reasons.

I have an absolute need for rails when I use steps and people leaning against the railings REALLY bother me. Like look, can I grab you when I walk up? Because I need to hold on to something, buddy, and you're blocking my rail access!
