Re: Do you include Author's Notes in your fanfic?

Sometimes! If I don't have anything to say, then I don't try and come up with anything, but that is where I might put a chapter-specific trigger warning, or explain in depth what a trigger warning tag is there for, since sometimes it's too broad to be useful when it comes to actually gauging whether or not you can handle something.

An author's note is also a good place for other explanations, especially if I'm writing for a franchise that's long-running or has multiple different things that are considered potentially canon? Like, 'this does not require knowledge of the comics' or 'while I took X from adaptation Y, I don't otherwise consider anything past Z to be canon'.

Or, if I'm writing something inspired by another fic/within a shared universe, but I know I have followers who won't have read the fic that inspired me, I might give a quick rundown of what it is about that universe they should know for things to make sense.
