Does it make you feel better or worse that Trump won the popular vote?

For me, worse. The lack of white voters (especially male voters) validates my long held concerns that white "liberals/centrists/leftists" are selfish fucks and they really do not care because "we'll just wait it out for 4 years".

There is nothing I can do or say to get those sorts of people to see beyond themselves. And I've known this but to really know, I sigh at how big this challenging hill really is.

My point is made with this response. This sort of interaction is exactly why I never spoke of my concerns. Straight to "lmao you're the racist and selfish one" as if this is some sort of game we're playing to see who wins.
I don't know what I can say or do to get people to see or think beyond themselves. This is all I've got. Say whatever else you want to anyone who wants to respond to this.

I'm not a fan of generalizations, but if they're just stating a fact, that doesn't automatically make it racist or sexist (it could, but not necessarily). And selfish is one hell of a stretch even if ayrt *was* being racist/sexist.

You're also ignoring the privilege of the group mentioned. Judging by your response, I'd guess you don't agree, but it's the duty of the privileged to help out the non-privileged. Showing up to the poll is one way of doing that.

This is where I am at. Because I don't believe, not for one second, that the majority of people in the US actually want Trump as president because of anything he stands for. Misinformation and apathy seeded by third parties I can believe, but I can't imagine that the majority of people watched Trump at a rally or the debates and thought "This is the guy I want to be in charge of the country and to represent my country internationally".
