Re: Elections/Politics thread
refused to advance popular policies on Palestine or economic revolutions, told us to expect more of the same when the same isn't working, has never apologized for her past as a prosecutor
Why would she do that? This is a center right country, at best, it's no wonder she tried to run to the center. Get ready for a bunch of Bill Clinton clones because Democrats won't run on anything resembling progressive for a long time.

Yes, essentially this. All people like AYRT are doing is send the message to the Republicans that they can be as openly bigoted and disdainful of minorities as they like, they will still win, and to the Dems that they have to cater to center-right, because that's where the votes are.
"Progressives" have proven that they aren't capable of turning out in high enough numbers to counter the conservative voter-turnout. They had the complete antithesis of everything they claim to stand for as their enemy and still couldn't be moved to go out and vote.
The lesson from that isn't to go more progressive next time, it's not to bother with progressives at all.
I'm so sorry for all the people on the left who realised what was at stake and voted, even if Harris wasn't their preferred choice, just to be let down by their own side.
