Christmas Shopping

(Anonymous) 2024-11-22 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
I HATE shopping for people that "just don't want anything". Shopping for my BIL, need to spend $80. My sister is like, "He just likes sentimental stuff." Sorry, you want me to buy him a childhood blanket? So annoying.

Ask her if he prefers to not receive anything because it sounds like she’s trying to tell you that. If that isn’t the case, you could put together an album on like snapfish or whatever for him.

I'm in the same boat, but with my parents. They never tell me what they want, but I know that they'll take it so personally if I actually didn't get them anything.

tbh, I was going to say photo album like the above comment too - or one of those blankets on Amazon where you can print a photograph on a blanket.

My mom does this to me every year. She wants my amazon wish list updated, but god forbid she tell me anything about what she might want.

Just give her cash or a gift card. That way it's out of your hands to make a decision. :)

Gift cards are very good gifts, IMHO.

That's so vague and frustrating. And honestly? I'd wonder, because most men don't seem to want "sentimental stuff". That's a generalization, obviously. It's just... so rare that I ever meet or hear of a man who values those things.

I'm someone who genuinely doesn't know what I want as a gift but I do offer ideas and give plenty of options on my wish list.

Best of luck OP. I tend to get gift cards for people who I don't know what to buy gifts for.
