Based on 2

What ships do you think would absolutely break up right after their HEA at the end of the movie?

I'm convinced Aang and Katara break up for a while and then find each other again. I like them, don't get me wrong, but they both need time to mature before a real HEA.

Aurora and Philip are an obvious choice. They barely know each other.

This makes sense to me, I can see it too.

All right, you got me. What the hell is an HEA? Google tells me it's Home Equity Agreement but I strongly suspect that doesn't apply in this context.

Happy/happily Ever After, the basic ending formula for most fairy tales as in "and they lived happily ever after".

Game not movie but Final Fantasy 8 - Rinoa and Squall. I just can't see that relationship working out, all things considered.

Lol yeah, they literally don't even know each other. They had like one conversation the whole game.

Yeah, I like to think they have a fun teen summer romance then go on to find other people, just like Rinoa and Seifer did. They just aren't compatible at all.

In the same vein, Tidus and Yuna. We saw with FFX-2 that Yuna can function as her own character but once she was shown that sphere her whole drive became Tidus again.

You can apply this to a lot of Final Fantasy's male and female leads.

Ross and Rachel after the end of Friends, with how awful they were together and could never get their shit right there's no way it worked out for longer than 3 months before they broke up again and Rachel then finally leaves like she originally planned.

(Anonymous) 2024-11-30 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
The absolute TRUTH. Ross and Rachel were toxic together and Rachel deserved so much better.

Robin and Ted from HIMYM. It didn't work the first few times, can't see why it would work after the finale.

I prefer to pretend that final never happened.

It works a little better in the books, but only a little. I get why Tolkien wanted them together, but they've never been a favorite couple of mine. Honestly I'd prefer they both remained single.

None of them because fictional romance isn't realistic nor should it be, especially in genres where "HEA" is a known and widely-used fandom term.

Snow White. Dumping the little guys who are your best friends for the rich guy you don't know anything about? bad move.

A lot of Disney couples, unfortunately. Like, I don't see Tiana and Naveen lasting, for example. And as much as I love Aladdin the movie and him as a character, maybe not him and Jasmine.

Re: Based on 2

(Anonymous) 2024-11-30 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
idk, I think the cartoon series gave Aladdin and Jasmine the needed time to actually grow into a proper couple. in other words, movies are hardly a glimpse into why people get together or whether they can last, but you see them continue to grow over a series it makes sense.

Screw the epilogue, Ron and Hermione.

Canonically (in the Speed franchise), Jack Traven and Annie Porter - most realistic thing about the sequel.

The Cutting Edge, I like the movie, I like both Kate and Doug, but no.

At some point, in the not-too-distant future after the 2005 film, I feel like Mr. and Mrs. Smith will succeed in killing each other.

I don't think any couple in Grease will always be together.

Oh man, I remember Cutting Edge. It was my sister's favorite movie when we were kids, so I had to see it a lot. And I agree. The skating was fun. But those two were so terrible for each other and really for any relationship with anyone.

I'm not into Potter anymore. But these days I can honestly only see the Trio together all three of them. Any duo just doesn't work on their own.

Pretty much any romance in an action movie. Once the adrenaline wears off you realize those hormones didn't actually mean love.
