Are they "complaining" though? They're not asking for anything or saying anyone should do anything. All the secret says is people do this and OP thinks it's a dumb thing to do. Or trolling, which some of these posts obviously are. I don't think there's even any argument from anyone about the troll part.

Seems fair enough? I also think it's pretty dumb and ultimately fruitless to try to have a serious political discussion on FS because it's anon, full of people looking to argue and trolls trying to troll you. It's also tiny and made up of a very specific demographic of older fans that don't have any significant political power as a group.

That doesn't mean I'm complaining about people that do it. You can think something is dumb and ignore it at the same time; you can ignore something because you think it's dumb. But it'd be a legit secret that you think it's dumb and are judging.

Yes, they are complaining. Enough to submit a secret about it right after the thread was split out. The intent is to make those who engage in political discussion see it and know they are being judged and disapproved of. Which is weird when they never have to look at the thread. But the rest of us have to scroll by the secret.

It's weird how you do not acknowledge that and instead argue things I never said.

I don't see these secrets as "complaints" any more than a secret which said "I think people who wank about fanfic comments are dumb" or "this ship and its shippers makes no sense" is a "complaint." Not every opinion that disagrees with or comments negatively on someone or someone's behavior is complaining about it, and fandom in general has gone way too far into thinking disagreement or judging negatively = complaining about them or their behavior and demanding something be done about it... which are not the same thing.

Guess we're stuck at agree to disagree.
