I love crossovers (and fusions) but it has to make *sense*. If you're crossing Harry Potter with a sci-fi show, I'm going to nope out. One is supposed to be science-y, the other is magic, and my brain just doesn't want to cross the streams.

Big agree! I love crossovers but I dont like it when authors just mash their faves together with no logic or sense.

Although I will say I once read a SG1/Sailor Moon crossover that was "crack treated seriously" and it somehow worked. I guess there is just an exception to every rule.

Same here. When two clashing universes crossover (eg Berserk and Gundam or My Little Pony and Hannibal, ew) my brain turns off and I refuse to read/watch it. I don't care how good it is, I'm not reading it. It just really stretches my suspension of disbelief.

I'm cool with clashing universes when the author makes it work. It takes a lot more effort, and most of the time they don't manage it. But when they do manage to make it work, the crossover is extra fun for me.
