I adopted a kitten!

(Anonymous) 2024-12-18 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
While mentioning it in another thread I realized I never announced it here, so now I have! I got him last Sunday. I was planning to get an older cat, but this one just fell in love with me. He nips my fingers and tracks litter everywhere, but otherwise he’s perfect. My own little baby. I still get anxious about whether I can handle being responsible for another being, especially because I’m terrible with daily routines and I’ve just added a whole bunch more to my life, but also I love him more than anything and he’s a precious wecious yes he is.

Wow, yay!! That is awesome! :D What color(s)? Fluffy or sleek?
I'm sure you'll do just fine, Anon.

Awwwwwww, congratulations!! I’m glad you’re enjoying your little furball (affectionate), and just in time for some quality snuggling weather if he‘s into that.

I will also say, I adopted a puppy five months ago, and the „oh my god I’m not responsible enough for this, this has totally upended my life“ feeling went away after like a month (as did the nipping of fingers). :D

Yay! Congrats. He's going to live his very best life with a human who clearly adores him.

A cat will either make you much better at daily routines, or teach you what you'll compromise on. Here's hoping you manage it. <3

Oh, lucky you! I'm glad you've got a precious wecious-- I find cats are a great help with daily routines because once they learn a routine, they'll come bother you at the right time every day. My sister once had a cat who, when he heard the end credits of the show that we habitually watched in the half hour before his feeding time, would start yelling and running to the kitchen... He was also on top of when bedtime was and would herd people to bed.

Wot, no pictures? (Though I'll understand if you want to preserve your anonymity.)
