The way I look at it, if you want to fantasize in peace about celebrities, don't press your nose into the aspects of their lives that they didn't invite their fans into. If you rifle through their dirty laundry, don't be shocked to find sh*t, what might be sh*t, or what lots of other people insist is shit even though coffee stains also happen. They are real humans, and they are not you, and as a result of those two things, their vices and failings and fuckups are not the ones you excuse about yourself.

I don't know what the guy in the picture allegedly did, but in general, I think it's not worth angsting over. Whatever feelings I develop for someone in conjunction with their being aesthetically appealing, charismatic, or a good actor are specifically about that: they're not a reward for exemplary behavior that can be "betrayed" and regretted at the drop of a hat after any old bit of printed gossip.
