I prefer going alone tbh. You can easier drop it if you don't enjoy it, or cry more freely. You don't have a problem with liking and your company not etc.
But, saying this. Some movies are better with a company. Special showings, action movies, some cracky trash.
For example I hated Agr of Ultron, but it's been 10 years and I still have fun memories of leading my friend into a spring bog on a way home lol

Even to this day, I cherish the experience of seeing "The Avengers" with a sold out screening on a Saturday afternoon.

I hold dear sold out screening of one of Harry Potter movies (I don't remember which) and I mildly disliked HP even then. Some experiences are just a good fun
