Well, I think people do kind of feel an obligation to research the artist nowadays because it's difficult to randomly talk about media online without someone coming along giving you a life lesson about why you shouldn't have consumed it in the first place. That's best case scenario. Worst case, you didn't realize the creator was a literal nazi, and now you are an apologist and [insert whatever applicable insults].

I tend to avoid talking about media I like on the internet because I don't care who made the thing and it all becomes so exhausting and joy-crushing to me when people bring the artist into it.
