I try to separate the art (financial support notwithstanding-- I have less problems coming to terms with dead artists) but sometimes the enjoyment is just utterly negated. When Dave Sim went on a tear about the "female void" and its inherent drain on creativity, I just figured that meant he would be happier if I no longer read his books. Freed up a couple feet of shelf space, too.

Adding on this a bit: I still like the poem "Instructions" despite Neil Gaiman, but oh if there was a way to make sure only Charles Vess got any proceeds from the book...
