yes like anon above me says i am clearly talking about art, individuals, and foreknowledge. like the the trigger here is someone, a person, asking themselves if they need to separate art and artist.

Like, where does it stop? Who decides what level of purity is required to make a purchase acceptable?
you decide? and then if you exist in a society where your decisions are known and people will treat you differently based on them, you decide with that knowledge too. i don't know if you know this but the people who are going to judge you on your purchases already do so based on whatever criteria they want, and you get to decide whether their judgement is worth engaging with, ignoring, or changing yours. everybody gets a choice.
