Hot Wheels racing. I’ve spent hours watching 3Dbotmaker on YouTube and I’m not even sure how it happened. But now I have a variety pack of cars on order and plans to stop at Walmart tomorrow for the preferred off brand track.

I’m a middle aged woman who has never had any interest in Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars, even as a kid.

Been rewatching LOTR extended, so back into Tolkien. Also been rewatching Babylon 5. And the news about the potential Buffy revival is making me want to rewatch and maybe read fic.

Still on my Thorin/Bilbo kick, I've almost gotten back to the very first lot of fics that were written which is both ridiculous: because oh my god how long have I spent reading fanfic over the last 8 months??? And also very fun as I've found some fics I'd forgotten about and new ones I'd not read before. I'm having a good time.

Love and Depression Deepspace. I'm not playing the game myself, but I do watch others play it while trying my best to keep from downloading it and play on my own time. The story has me hooked and the tasty pixel men are nice, too.

Still Warhammer but a personal challenge is drawing more porn. Combating despair with porn is a time-honored fandom tradition and brother, I'm taking up arms.

I've fallen back down the Sonic the Hedgehog hole after booting up Sonic and Shadow Generations. You guys... it's so good. It's SO good. I completely understand why everyone loves Shadow now (I've been a Sonic fan off and on basically my whole life, so it feels a bit monumental to not only comprehend but be fully on board the Shadow hype.) I've been downloading fic and listening to the music and thinking of picking up the comics where I left off and possibly buying some merch - hyperfixation go brrrr, as the kids say.

Also, super late to the Stargate: Atlantis fandom (I only started watching last September), but that's also really good and actively taking up brainspace! I'm working my way through Season 3 and it feels like the writers have gotten the core team dynamics down, so I'm excited to see what happens next.

I am not happy about it, but Skibidi Toilet. It's not high art, but it has some nice fights and makes good use of nonverbal communication to tell its story. I just wish I could convince anyone in my friend circles to watch it too (it's hard out here being an elder millennial with early machinima/YTMND-era internet nostalgia goggles)

Helluva Boss!

I got into it this month, which means I now have to grapple with the knowledge that it might be years until the next episode comes out. Also, since I don't really participate in fandom outside of AO3 I don't know how to find all those lovely fan comics or fanart I see on YouTube.

And I'd like to get some of the mech but since I'm in Europe I'm not sure what the shipping situation and availability is yet.

But I'm still in my first phase of reading all the fic on AO3 and there's a) a lot and b) some really good fics, so at least right now, I'm still good.

Rewatching NGE for the first time since high school and really enjoying it (I'm a lot older now, lol). I can follow the story a lot better. I totally didn't realize how immature the young adult characters are when I was a kid, their storylines are way more interesting now.

I'm back into my Stucky hole.
Steve/Bucky is a pairing I come back to every few years now and I'm catching up on good long new post-Endgame fics I missed. I'm also re-reading my classics.

Another new fandom is Brave Bang Bravern!, lol. I watched it last month and I still think about it daily. I can read Japanese so I'm enjoying all the stupid comics and novels on pixiv. What an anime... (If you ever decide to watch it, go in BLIND. Don't read anything about it.)

Have you ever looked up old toys

and been shocked at how awesome your childhood brain remembered it being only to realize it was in reality not all that?

Inspired by the MLP secret I was just thinking about this carrying case we had for our MLPs and how cool I thought it was. My memory made it so much more than it was. I mean it's still pretty neat, but it's also just a plastic and velcro case. Also I did not remember all the pink. For some reason in my memory this thing was a totally different vibe with terracotta orange roof and a classy stable look. Kids see the world differently.

I've looked at the old vintage He-Man toys and they are just ridiculous. The only "cool" ones are Panthor with the flock coating and Battlecat. Stridor is nice too, I guess.

I've searched without any luck for toy horses from a She-ra like line where it was a white horse with gold hooves and snap on gold wings on its legs and the villain counterpart was black with red details. I've seen it in a toy catalogue from the 80's when I was a kid, but I can't remember what the brand was. Those could perhaps be disappointing if I were to find them, maybe.

Oh man, the MLP toys, especially from the 80s. Definitely so much pink. I had some kind of palace set with a fountain. Lots of ponies, boys and girls, and even a sea pony. Can't remember if the palace had its own carrying case or not though.

As for me...

I remember laughing when I played Pac-Man on Atari 2600 for the first time in YEARS... wondering how, as a kid, I didn't catch how fugly it was compared to the arcade version.

"The best-selling author Neil Gaiman and his estranged wife were sued by a New Zealand woman who is seeking millions of dollars for alleged sexual abuse and human trafficking while she worked for them as a nanny and babysitter, according to three lawsuits filed on Monday.

Scarlett Pavlovich said Gaiman, author of The Sandman comic book series and the novel American Gods, repeatedly raped her while she worked for him and Amanda Palmer in 2022, causing physical, mental and emotional harm.

Palmer was accused of knowing that Pavlovich was vulnerable, and failing to warn that Gaiman had a history of predatory behavior, according to court papers.
The couple were named as defendants in Pavlovich's lawsuit filed in the federal court in Madison, Wisconsin. Palmer is the sole defendant in Pavlovich's federal lawsuits filed in Manhattan and Boston."
