I love canon size difference, but I'm not a fan of made-up ones because I find it silly and daft. It eeks into that part of fandom where it doesn't feel like the fans are actually into a ship on it's own merits, but are into a pair of current popular pretty things they can slap their own personalities onto.

Which to each their own but it's not what I'm interested in.

Agreed. A forced size difference is no size difference at all.

Oh, same. Right now I'm really into a ship where there is a canon size difference of nearly a foot and that's the good shit. But I'm also into another ship where the canon size difference is only about an inch and it drives me crazy how fanartists exaggerate it. They're nearly the same height! There is no size difference to speak of!!

Yup. What I want is the characters we have in canon. Size differences can be fun when it fits with canon. I don't like it when it doesn't match the actual characters.

Book shipping can be fun for this given we don't always get told the heights of book characters.
