I love drag, and I love that RuPaul has made it so accessible to the masses... but I absolutely get where you're coming from, OP. With that accessibility comes the attitude among fans that you're either a bad queer or a bad ally if it's not your cup of tea.

I think I only notice (and hate it) due to fandom's obsession with size difference. Which is probably on me for binging too much fic and seeing it repeated endlessly. If I had just enjoyed media like a normie I would probably be fine with it.

I love canon size difference, but I'm not a fan of made-up ones because I find it silly and daft. It eeks into that part of fandom where it doesn't feel like the fans are actually into a ship on it's own merits, but are into a pair of current popular pretty things they can slap their own personalities onto.

Which to each their own but it's not what I'm interested in.

People call drag examining femininity? I don't get it, what's there to examine when there's a drag queen template for behavior and every single drag queen follows it?

I don't like reality TV in general so I have no interest in Drag Race because of it, lord knows I don't mention this anywhere near my online queer circles or irl ones because I'd get dragged over the coals. I appreciate drag for it's place and history in the community, but I just don't care for it?

The closest I get to enjoying it is using gif-meme's from the series as reactions.

SA To be clear I have no issue with drag, I'm just confused what it explores when the types of femininity that appear in 99.9% of drag are so comparatively narrow and rigid and defined.
