The source is his own brother and several others, google it. And nope, he went against his visa so he IS illegal - because in your logic, getting into the country by illegal means (which breaking your visa is) means deportation, no matter if the person went legal AFTERWARDS.

It's a matter of law and not my logic. It's more than 20 year old so the law doesn't care. Elon is such a stupid argument. You can use better ones, like that there's bribes, they grab too many people, that you worry about businesses that employ illegals. One of the fs users has a good argument in that the detention centers' conditions are bad. I don't trust their judgement one bit but it's a good argument.

Well, actually, "illegal" is a misnomer when it comes to immigration. It isn't actually a crime to come here illegally. It only becomes a crime when they reenter a second time. We treat them like criminals, detaining them, while giving them less rights than we do criminals. But no, it isn't a crime to be in this country without status.
