Thank you for addressing the fiscal issues. That was what had me going wtf.

We don't have universal health care, paid leave, child care, and we're in a housing crisis that combined with inflation and tariffs, I'm gonna go ahead and refer to as a recession. .. like, if the issue for people is financial (and apparently, for many young couples, it is), this is a ridiculously inadequate monetary incentive.
