Basically any popular tourist food but especially Georgetown Cupcake in DC.

Also, macarons. I always think they'll be good but they just are not.

Oh, hey! Someone else who doesn't get the big deal about macarons. They're not terrible or anything, but they're also not anything to write home about.

I'm a DC native and yeah, Georgetown Cupcake is HIDEOUSLY overrated. Anyone who lives here knows that if you want actual good cupcakes, you go to Baked & Wired.

When I got into baking, I wanted to learn how to make macarons because they looked so pretty and a lot of bloggers said it's one of the most difficult cookies to make. It took me years and years to learn how to make it. When I finally was able to make them, I was just thrilled to have been able to make them.
But after baking them months on end, taking a break, and then eating them again...they're OK.

Honestly not worth the effort or price they go for, but they're cute. I get the novelty of it, but never going to be a dessert that goes on my favorite list.
