I think if someone gets uncomfortable EVERY time they see a trans reading of a character, that just indicates they're uncomfortable with trans people. I feel like most of us would agree if we swap out "trans" for "gay" this sounds like someone who's got some homophobia going on, same deal.

DA

There's definitely something going on but not necessarily transphobia. I reflexively get uncomfortable because I'm dysphoric and, even though I spend all my time in M/M because of the dysphoria, about 99.99% of trans headcanons fic there involve surprise vagina. It's gotten to the point where I just skip any fic with trans tagging on it, because it is going to make me uncomfortable, but not because of transphobia on my part...

It's more transphobic to force your trans headcanons on people because that can easily trigger dysphoria for irl trans people, btw.

DA.

Who's being forced though? Unless someone is going into someone's inbox and sending them 18+ trans headcanons, just seeing a fandom post in the wild is not forcing anything on anyone. If it bothers you block them, and yes if it's most of the fandom then block most of the fandom.

It's not the majority but damn, I've seen some very insistent people when it comes to trans headcanons who keep bringing it into every interaction they have in fandom and get incredibly defensive (of the "you're transphobic" variety) if you don't agree with it. Luke, unsolicited trans headcanon comments on fic or fanart, for example. Also untagged trans content. It can get really annoying.

My opinion would be the same if they were uncomfortable with gay headcnons across the board. I don't care.
