I just wanted to vent about English people still saying Oliver Cromwell was good guy who never committed genocide, and never acted like a tyrannical religious fanatic and dictator. And a massive hypocrite too. And then things escalated real quick. So, sorry about that.

English people are dumb about English history, Cromwell is a wrong 'un, and nothing is happening elsewhere in the world germane to this statement. Are we clear?

I'm British and like I said yesterday, I'm really surprised that anyone who knows anything about the bare bones history of Oliver Cromwell who like him in any capacity. No one really benefited from him taking rule unless they were also a hardcore puritan or in the courts reaping from the horrors inflicted onto the Irish and Scottish.

That being said, if these people barely go past 'He replaced the monarchy briefly' or are getting alternative information about that bastard then that would also not surprise me.

Also, I don't get people who claim that Israel is committing genocide when a. Hamas a terrorist organizations did October 7th, killed, raped, and have hostages and still denying freeing them even to this day and then be surprised how Israel responded.

b. Like do you people want to be kidnapped, raped, killed, etc or something? Like I generally don't understand peoples responses to this at all like make it make sense to me because math isn't mathing to me.

There are people who will claim that they hate Israel government or something but the way the frame things, it's clearly overt or hidden antisemitism and as someone who is very Jewish I hate having to monitor it or explain to people what they said is antisemitic.
