“Benefit” I don’t think that word means what you think it means.

Why?

Because the shows would suffer for it. Any drama in a show would be undermined by silliness. Any writers, show runners, producers, and studio executives would have no say over a part of their show. And I don’t think audiences would enjoy on a wide scale. Sure OP will enjoy it but one viewer doesn’t make an audience for multimillion dollar productions. In markets with a majority of viewers watching in terrestrial services, advertisers will lose revenue for the final commercial break and the one immediately following the show. It would be stupid and pointless but more importantly the shows would suffer for it, which is the exact opposite of what OP said.

DA - but this is wildly personal opinion, so I don't know why you're assuming majority audiences agree with you and not OP. Some people would hate it, some people would love it, there is no real right or wrong here.

So maybe an alternative is to not require it for every show?

There's a Yackety Sax mix of the sped-up Red Wedding in Game of Thrones and it's honestly one of the best things I've ever seen.

You know, I was going to ignore this secret because it’s just one of those “sensible chuckle” type deals? But people are being so unnecessarily hostile about it that you’ve won me over, OP. All shows should be mandated by international law have that element. Drama, comedy, nature documentary, the news, cooking shows - Yaketu Sax all of em. Not only that that, but all said shows will have a musical episode, a beach episode and one cliffhanger that turns out to be a dream. So say we all.
