I know, and it's so depressing. We lucked out in being able to buy a very small home, which as Millennials, we still thought was going to be a starter home and then 2008 happened. We managed to keep it through the skin of our teeth (and a shit ton of debt) though we were underwater for almost a decade. We've managed to get to the point where we can reliably save for retirement and the whole thing has felt like a waste and not the way life is supposed to go. And to find out from our financial advisor that we're doing better than 98% of our cohort because we might actually have a chance at retirement?? Jesus fuck, we're all screwed.
