Hey, a fellow Peter Cook and Dudley Moore appreciator!
Supposedly they wanted to convert it to a more broad American sense of humor and I think they were successful, but it also meant I found the remake not very funny at all.
I also prefer the original because its depiction of the Devil is much more unusual and interesting. I love the way he’s petty and a bit childish, then apathetic and bored. And eventually he just seems a bit lonely.
I have no particular stance on the relative attractiveness of Elizabeth Hurley and Raquel Welch.
