Its also so low stakes. No one - unless you're watching Degrassi or something - is going to lose their home or cause a world war in a teen drama. Oh, no, you have to chose between two cute guys to go to prom? What on earth will you do.

Because of family shit, I grew up far to early and not completely at the same time. When I do watch high school stuff, there's that living vicariously through a safe thing like low stakes teen drama. I don't like - only - teen drama stuff, but there's that escapism of getting a glimpse, even a high stylised one, of something I was denied off. Helps me process my shit, ya’know?

Along, with like therapy and stuff.
