As the others said, not really racist. I can't watch any Thai dramas because I can't stand the sound of the language.
But in your case, it might also have something to do with dubbing styles - I feel a lot of Japanese dubs are much more shouty and generally louder than Chinese dubs. Not saying there is no shouting in donghua but I do feel it's generally a bit softer.
