I was the person who posted the original secret that you used for the background.

I explained my motives a little in another thread but...yeah, it is a cowardly thing to do. And guess what? I'm a coward.

I have to hide behind secrets and anonymity, because I'm terrified of that person ACTUALLY FINDING OUT. It's not really the affect it would have on our already-stagnant "friendship" that scares me...it's the possible repercussions with other friends in fandom that I met through this person. They're something of a "BNF," and I ended up meeting a TON of people that I now consider close friends through them. If we were to have a massive falling-out, I'm scared that my friends would end up siding with them, and that I'd find myself cut off from everyone else.

I'm sorry, that turned into an extremely insecure rant.

Still #1's poster.

It's okay. At the risk of sounding melodramatic or whiny (wait, why do I care? I'm an anonymous) this is still sounding disturbingly familiar to what happened to me a year ago with a bit of role-reversal thrown in. I can relate big time. D= I feel sort of bad now for using yours as a backdrop.

Do you know if she still considers you a friend? If she has the same feelings then you'd probably be able to break it off without harming other friendships in the process. If she's going to make a big deal out of it, just make sure you keep in contact with those other friends and let them know your side of the story too. Don't respond to her if she tries to start anything; retaliating is going to give you negative points.

You really should tell her, in any case. It's not good for either of you if you leave her hanging on. If a friendship's gone stale and mouldy and more of a burden than a blessing, it's better to let it go, even if it hurts a bit afterwards.

Best of luck to you. ♥

I really, really ought to talk to her. I'm sure she probably doesn't consider me a friend anymore, but for the sake of an RP we're both in, I'm trying to at least keep up appearances. I don't want to bring in drama, especially because I'm one of the mods. I just...choose not to interact with her character that often, and it works out great.

I OUGHT to talk to her, but I know that I'm not going to. I'm too chicken to.

Usually when these kinds of friendships stagnate, they just die on their own. I hope that's what happens to this one, so I don't have to confront anyone. I'm a pretty timid person; I was once stuck in a relationship with a boy I couldn't even stand for THREE MONTHS because I was scared to say no.

Anonymity is fun, because you can unload ALL KINDS of emotional junk! I ought to post secrets more often.

♥ Thank you. And don't feel bad.
