Ooh yeah, that annoys me too. Like BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF and to others about your ability to follow through on stuff. I've heard people say that oh, they don't want to let people down, they don't want to leave people in the lurch... I don't believe that. Because if you sincerely wanted to be as little trouble as possible, you'd admit you aren't going to make that deadline or turn in your fic/art on time instead of lying through your teeth multiple times and then ghosting.

You want to avoid confrontation and being held accountable, which is cowardly and immature.
