Same. I thought - hoped this would be the NiGHTs successor I longed for, but then I played the demo and thought it was... ehhhh. I figured as a demo, it'd iron out the bland, but it's literally just the completed first level and the whole game is just like that. Funnily, I find the novel adaptation much more engaging, simply for giving some depth that the game itself had none of.

It is a damn shame, Balan's entire character design is just my aesthetic. Also agree with everyone else: regular Balan over the boring anime bishonen Balan (even if the book provides an implied answer.)
