Whatever you say. As I previously stated I have no idea what Libby even is. If it's similar to the digital library available to me then the files are protected by DMR, which sometimes makes stuff complicated sometimes.
With my resources is as easy as "open site" > "type book title" > "looking at the result and selecting the right file extension (usually .epub or .pdf)" > "click download" and then either read on PC of my preferred software or sending it on calibre to my ebook reader.
It's as easy as it gets. I doubt Libby is waaaaay easier than this.

No need to be this inflammatory and call me stupid btw, lol.

DA

...wait, if you don't have no idea what something is how are you sure anything is easier or harder than it?

(Anonymous) 2025-08-21 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
don't have any* lol

(Anonymous) 2025-08-21 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
You're boring. I even explicitly wrote "I doubt" so I'm not making any absolute statements in my claim.
But whatever. I'm wrong, you're right. Enjoy your internet points, nonny.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-21 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Skill issue" is an absolute claim and it's the first thing you started with... lol.

But okay, you're flouncing, I get it. See you.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Is it? I don't think it is.
I was trying to say that piracy is as easy as I gets. I personally doubt that "Libby is much easier than pirating" as anon above said, but I don't even need to know how easy/hard it is to say with certainly that a claim like that implies "skill issues" regarding modern book piracy.
Easier? Fine, I have no idea. Libby can be a streamlined as it gets. But "sooo much easier"? Dude, it's a skill issue.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Stupid it is, then.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
AH, calling people stupid is way more flouncing, as you said, as whatever I did in this thread. Also, I repeat myself, boring. And useless... because what, am I supposed to get offended by this? The fuck? I'm not 13 years old. I honestly don't get it, but maybe I'm the strange one because I've never called an internet stranger "stupid" just in order to "win" a useless argument as the one above.
But yeah, probably I've just fallen for an internet troll. I'm an easy target, I admit it. I hope it was entertaining for you as it was for me (extremely little, but I use these discussion to hone my poor English skills so thanks I guess).

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude... the comment literally shows that OP has access to Libby. And here you are, jumping to your defense when it's not about you. Stupid.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
? But the one writing "Skill issue" is not secret's OP, it's me. It's been me the whole time in this thread. One anon above replied to me "Hopefully you're just ignorant and not stupid.", directly replying to the comment stating I don't have access to Libby (so yeah, couldn't really be interpreted as me being secret's OP). and the comment you are referring to is "Stupid it is, then." so ??? you are deliberating I am the stupid one, the "Skill Issue" nonny, ME. How is it not about me?

Or are you talking about the secret's OP? Because we are not the same person... and it's been clear we are not the whole thread.

I know anon writing to each other is kind of messy sometimes, but mmmmh... this time I don't think it is as much as to justify this confusion (and you (or other nonnies) calling me stupid AGAIN).
To make matters easier I am the nonny who wrote the comments starting with:
-Skill issue.
-Whatever you say.
-You're boring.
-Is it? I don't think it is.
-AH, calling people stupid is way more flouncing [...]

and the below:
-You thought wrong [...]
-I love how you are attacking me [...]

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not reading all that, but I'm happy or sad for you. (mostly sad because omg)

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
NP, I just need excuses to practise my English and this thread was great for that. Bye!

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
I thought you were leaving?

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
You thought wrong because I never said I'd leave. You assumed it, like you presumably assumed a lot of stuff in this thread (not sure what anon you are, so idk what you specifically wrote). No, saying you win an argument is not the same as saying I'm abandoning it, especially if you add more inflammatory just in order to have the last word. Where the hell is your reading comprehension?
At least the other person just straight called me stupid, I almost have more respect for that, lol

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
"I have no idea what Libby even is" [follows with a wrong assumption about what it *could* be]

Then you can at least look it up? It has no DRM or any of that crap. You just put in your library location and card, and digital versions of books are available for free. It's similar to using z-library, but legal.
I'm sure overseas first world countries has some equivalent. Jeebus.

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I love how you are attacking me when I don't even pirate books that are available to me and never claimed to. I'm not even justifying piracy! WTF. I was just saying that piracy is very very easy and I could do it in three clicks and typing. Saying that Libby or any other platform like that can't be "sooo much easier" than piracy because book piracy is very very easier (you mentioned z-lib so YOU KNOW and yeah I didn't mention it because I didn't want to publicise the name and make piracy more accessible to people that don't know...). Ever heard of the telegram bots? That shit is crazy easy.

And no, my country doesn't have a system like that without DRMs. Sorry to disappoint. Maybe the Australian UK or other European country have it. I don't. (also because we don't have a "national" public library, but a "regional" one) Not all countries are technologically advanced as the USA.
AND I personally don't even read ebooks at all, lol. And the few times I attempted to do so I had the ones free from Amazon or tried borrowing from my local library (which I couldn't read, because fucking adobe DRMs), but didn't like to read the book on my kindle so I just gave up. I just know this piracy shit because I find it fascinating.

SA
The Australian UK ahaha sure

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Libby has DRM...

(Anonymous) 2025-08-22 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure overseas first world countries has some equivalent"

You're very wrong, then.
