I used to actually enjoy reading works in progress. Subscribing and getting those updates and commenting as the story progressed was really fun. But I have been burned too many times with abandoned fic (no hate to the author, I just emotionally really hate being left without closure) so I no longer read WiPs. Complete fic only. Verrry rarely if it is an author I know is good for finishing - even if that takes years - then I'll go ahead and read and subscribe, but it's super rare these days.
