I can't keep clean consistently. I work remotely, so I feel like I don't have an excuse.

I spent all weekend cleaning last weekend, and it still wasn't great but I at least didn't fear someone randomly popping over. It's back to bad. Not hoarders bad, but bad.

Yes, I'm neurodivergent. Not that it's any excuse.

What I've found works for me is if I see something that needs cleaning, I just do it then and there rather than waiting and letting stuff build up. It's far, far easier to take five minutes to wipe down the counters once you're finished cooking than it is to have to clean the counters AND the stove AND the kitchen sink AND mop the floor, etc. etc. If you never let stuff build up, it never gets to the point where tackling it is an immense chore.

happens to all of us, don't beat yourself up. I wfh and have the time and energy and no known mental issues to stop me but I still let the yard go to shit in under a month. all it took was heavy rain and wildfire smoke on and off and now I'm in a hole that's very hard to dig out of even for an able-bodied person with time on their hands.
