Small Annoyances/Gripes

Do you have a minor annoyance or gripe? Use this thread to vent a bit.

Sit up straight while sick = not easy to make comfortable or easy to sleep and hurts my butt

Slightest tilt in body while sick = mucus builds up immediately and sleep is near impossible as I hack up mucus until I sit up straight

I hate being sick 😭

I'm sorry! I hope you feel much better soon!

I can't keep clean consistently. I work remotely, so I feel like I don't have an excuse.

I spent all weekend cleaning last weekend, and it still wasn't great but I at least didn't fear someone randomly popping over. It's back to bad. Not hoarders bad, but bad.

Yes, I'm neurodivergent. Not that it's any excuse.

What I've found works for me is if I see something that needs cleaning, I just do it then and there rather than waiting and letting stuff build up. It's far, far easier to take five minutes to wipe down the counters once you're finished cooking than it is to have to clean the counters AND the stove AND the kitchen sink AND mop the floor, etc. etc. If you never let stuff build up, it never gets to the point where tackling it is an immense chore.

happens to all of us, don't beat yourself up. I wfh and have the time and energy and no known mental issues to stop me but I still let the yard go to shit in under a month. all it took was heavy rain and wildfire smoke on and off and now I'm in a hole that's very hard to dig out of even for an able-bodied person with time on their hands.

Gashing reviews for a really bad movie. People on imdb don't know what a good movie is.

I suffered through a movie Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and hated it. The main character is an egotistoical blonde 'young lord' that bothers everyone around him without any thoughts about anyone's wellbeing. I removed the book it based on from my tbr. Terrible. It's a rare case where I'm in favor of slapping kids.

I'm glad there was two negative reviews. Too few but there.

My small annoyance is people who think how good a movie is depends on the morals or likability of the protagonists. And in fandom when it's a movie I haven't heard of, such as in your case, I will no longer give the benefit of the doubt that it's bad writing making them unlikable when they're not supposed to be, not that they're supposed to be unlikable as part of the point.

It's not a fandom at all. I found the book when I was looking for stream of consciousness writing. It's a cheap tearjerker plot based on a tragedy. The main character is a kid that seppoused to invoke sympathy as it's a tearjerker movie and possibly an Oscars bait, with abundant sad piano music.
Believing reviews doesn't pay off in any case. So many awesome movies got bad reviews. Can't think about any with an annoying protagonist.

I didn't want to go the grocery store until Sunday, but my partner is out of his fave drink and we have no veggies left except two onions and some lettuce, so I have to go tomorrow. I know it's weird, but I only like shopping on Sunday mornings when the shops are dead as can be.

(We could order, but I also don't like paying extra fees and I don't need to be that lazy. And I have a parcel to mail too, so anyway. Very petty gripe.)

Woke up feeling like I was hit by a truck. Went to doc. I have both strep throat and a sinus infection.

Honestly, this stress is killing me. I really need a new job.

Thanks. Fingers crossed. I had a job interview today that went well and they already asked for a second interview. I'm taking that as a good sign.

I’m tired of being tired. I wish I could sleep and wake up refreshed, but I don’t.

I'm severely disabled and have carers. The amount of stress that adds to my life is unbelievable. But I can't live without them so I have to deal with it, even if the carer in question is completely inept or rather obnoxious.

Fortunately, a number of my carers are lovely but it's still a strain.

My primer doesn't work for metal figures so if I want to paint the little figure of a woman holding a goose (i love her) I have to get a whole new can of primer. This figure is missing an arm and has a penny as a base, a new can of primer is a pretty big investment for me =]

Oh, that is tough. I hope you can save up to get the new primer. Painting figures is really fun if you have the proper tools.

Maybe try on a hobby subreddit if someone would be willing to share a small amount of the primer you need and send it to you (could have it sent to a postbox or something if you don't want to give out your home adress to strangers).
