Gashing reviews for a really bad movie. People on imdb don't know what a good movie is.

I suffered through a movie Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and hated it. The main character is an egotistoical blonde 'young lord' that bothers everyone around him without any thoughts about anyone's wellbeing. I removed the book it based on from my tbr. Terrible. It's a rare case where I'm in favor of slapping kids.

I'm glad there was two negative reviews. Too few but there.

My small annoyance is people who think how good a movie is depends on the morals or likability of the protagonists. And in fandom when it's a movie I haven't heard of, such as in your case, I will no longer give the benefit of the doubt that it's bad writing making them unlikable when they're not supposed to be, not that they're supposed to be unlikable as part of the point.

It's not a fandom at all. I found the book when I was looking for stream of consciousness writing. It's a cheap tearjerker plot based on a tragedy. The main character is a kid that seppoused to invoke sympathy as it's a tearjerker movie and possibly an Oscars bait, with abundant sad piano music.
Believing reviews doesn't pay off in any case. So many awesome movies got bad reviews. Can't think about any with an annoying protagonist.
