I don't understand what preachy is. Woke? Anti war? There's so many reasons to avoid rewatches but preachiness is a stretch. Especially seeing the current media.

Well, Hawkeye for sure gets on his high horse a lot, but most of time it's stuff that (hopefully) you and others can agree with: war sucks, the military sucks, treating 'the enemy' like less than human sucks....

I have more issues with episodes where it's All About Hawkeye and a subject I couldn't care less about, like his brief dip into erectile dysfunction.

I'm not finding it preachy at all, it's the gross sexism (accurate for both '52 and '75 but still terrible to watch in action) and everyone being horny all the time as the only fallback for comedy.

Yeah, the sexism and random rapey moments (mostly victimizing Maj. Houlihan) are NOT GOOD at all.

Given that they were mostly all middle-aged ~50 years ago, I would suspect some kind of pirate curse if they were all still alive.

I don't mind the preachiness, but if it's a concern for you maybe try just watching the first three seasons?

Eee, yeah I get you. I've basically set my life on never revisiting something once I've moved on from it. I just can't risk losing any sort of joy or happiness I remember having because my angry depressed ass loves to ruin everything, and I really don't have that much joy or happiness left to hold on to at times.
My advice is to just remember it as it was, it's great you enjoyed the series, so why chance that innocence with a re-watch, right? Love what you remember.
