Nope, I still call bullshit. If you need people to call you, then don't add an online ordering system to your website. There are plenty of mom and pop restaurants that post their menus online but don't have online ordering. The place I'm now choosing over them fits that bill.

It's bad business to use a wonky platform that adds extra charges onto your customers' orders and then say, "but you should have known to call us, and also we had no choice but to add this to our website." The fact that it's common doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

Yeah, they should spend $15000 to build their own website that will cost them $45000 a year to maintain instead of $15000 a year to use an existing platform with templates *eye roll*

Stick to McDonald’s in the future because that’s the kind of company that can afford to put up with nightmare asshole customers like you. Their lives can’t be destroyed by bad reviews from argumentative customers who don’t have a fucking clue what they’re talking about.

DA
They don't need to make a site that takes orders. They just need to make cheap site with a menu and a phone number. If this is how they work.
In what way is OP nightmare fucking customer for being upset for not getting what they ordered?
You sound like one of this owners, not a good look.

LOL. It doesn't cost that much. If they don't want to have an online ordering system, their website could be a plain text page with business hours, address, a basic menu (with no prices if they're worried about keeping it up to date) and their phone number. It's not that complicated.

AYRT

Where in the world are you getting those prices from? I'm part of a couple of small organizations that have basic websites. One is through Google's free service, so it cost $0.00 for us to set it up, and $0.00 for us to maintain it. The other is a whopping $96/year to maintain.

There is no reason for a small business to spend $45,000 a year on a website that lists their hours, address, and phone number. It is surely costing this restaurant more money to pay for an online ordering system that doesn't work right than it would be for them to post a picture of their menu and prompt customers to call in.

You are vastly exaggerated the costs of running a functioning online order form.

Also, the restaurant wouldn't even have to change their current setup if they simply made the online default sub with the standard dressings - the way they give it out when customers call in. This is an entirely self-made problem by the owner, either through greed or incompetence.

I love the irony of you saying someone doesn't have a fucking clue what they're talking about after saying it costs upwards of $60000 to put up a simple website. 🤣
