Inspired by secret #2.

and your favorite example of the genre?

I am tempted to say MMORPG just because the original Guild Wars in my favorite game, but it is a pretty unique example of an MMORPG.

Otherwise just in general I like rpgs. The Assassin's Creed games and Dragon Age games are some of my favorites.

open world. mostly - I couldn't get into the Witcher at all but definitely fell into Baldur's Gate hard. Asssasin's Creed, Yazuka...it doesn't matter the setting or amount of fantasy but it has to be large enough for me to put anywhere from 70-120 hours into before I consider myself finished.

favorites are AC: Black Flag and Origins. I don't hate Shadows but even being able to walk the very parts of Kyoto I walked in doesn't make up for its flaws.

Black Flag was so good. I enjoyed Origins but no other AC has quite hit Black Flag levels for me. AC2 is a very close second favourite.

I was really surprised how much I loved Origins. I played it late (after Odyssey) and had heard a lot of hate, but Bayek of Siwa is right up there with my favorite characters.

I love Bayek so damn much. I came in late, too, I missed the hate, but I feel like AC fandom is a lot like Suikoden fandom: "2 is the best and no other game will ever match up to it, all others suck no matter how good you say they are."

Yeah I dipped in the fandom and then quickly dipped out. "If it doesn't have Ezio it's not a 'real' AC game." *eyeroll* Kassandra and Bayek are tied as my favorite. I love them so much.

3rd person single player, usually historical or fantasy, e.g. Assassin's Creed, Witcher, Tomb Raider, HZD, etc etc.

Side scrolling platforms if I had to pick one. But I just like any game that is linear and doesn't have a ton of side quests. Which is funny because one of my favorite games is WoW.

I love a good metroidvania, so having a blast with Silksong right now. Other go-tos are survival horrors, puzzle games and action games like DMC or Bayonetta. If I'm feeling more chill I love a good cozy game like Stardew or Animal Crossing.

I like artsy, relaxed games with some kind of puzzle and/or exploration.

Not sure that’s really a defined genre, though.
