Re: Cats!

(Anonymous) 2025-09-18 03:07 am (UTC)(link)I agree with the outside aspect as well, especially since a lot of them declaw their cats for the most part. Even on a leash unsupervised, my aunts cat died going after a bird. She got tangled up across her neck even wearing a harness. It's just not safe. (theres another story my Nana told me about how her neighbours toy sized dog was actually grabbed by a eagle or falcon once, I honestly could not believe it)
And I absolutely cannot believe the cat was out the next day. Your co-worker needs to both talk to their neighbour and call animal services. I can't even imagine what they were thinking. That's horrible.
Re: SA
I love cats, I would have one if I weren't super super allergic to them.
Re: SA
(Anonymous) 2025-09-18 06:06 am (UTC)(link)Honestly, I'm allergic to them as well. My allergy doc straight up said I need to get rid of her, but obviously she's not going anywhere. I'm allergic to so much though, that literally that same appointment two different doctors stopped while walking by to ask how I managed through the season. (trees, grass, weeds, are all terrible)
I might start wheezing whenever my anxiety/stress levels acts up, but I'm not going to die, I have an epipen (from my severe food allergies no less), but she's going to stay until she can't anymore.
I really wouldn't recommend getting a cat if you do suffer though. It does suck that there aren't any hypoallergenic cats aside from the Egyptian(?) ones though, especially since they're known to be difficult, afaik.

Re: SA
(Anonymous) 2025-09-19 05:25 am (UTC)(link)I'm very curious though, I mean, I doubt you've interacted with many naked cats over the years, but is it a touch reaction, or is the allergy so severe that you react just by being near them?
Either way, I mourn your kittylessness! Allergies are the worst!

(Anonymous) 2025-09-20 06:33 am (UTC)(link)Maybe they'll be able to humanely breed a hairless horse, or allergyless cat in the future and we can both indulge cute animal fun time!
