(Anonymous) 2025-09-29 07:42 am (UTC)(link)I really liked their flirting! And I kind of wonder if League of Legends features more of that dynamic? But them getting together amidst 50 bajillion other things happening and them face/heel turning / being too depressed for a relationship except as a form of pure distraction/avoidance every two episodes (as it felt to me) was just kinda meh. Wish their relationship had had a bit more time to deepen and slow burn and have more cute moments and growing intimacy/trust/cooperation before the hard times and plot twists/double agent stuff hit. I feel like if Arcane came back (RIP) and featured Caitlyn and Vi in an established relationship of two people who have each other's back and casually go on missions together with lower stakes, I could be into it again.
On the other hand, I really enjoyed JayVik's whole fairy-tale-esque cosmic lovers joined in apotheosis thing going on. It had vibes of Utena and Anthy, Madoka and Homura, [insert characters from Princess Tutu], [insert friendship trios from Kingdom Hearts] to me. I think it was a weird, otherworldly relationship vibe that actually worked fine/better as the stakes of the show kept going up, which I appreciate.
