this hadn't crossed my mind until i read this secret. possibly unpopular opinion: now i hope they actually don't make the show overtly "woke" so that the anti-woke parents will be less likely to prevent their kids from watching it. make it subtly woke so that it goes under the radar, and maybe those kids who, like you said, need to see it the most will be allowed to

Unfortunately, I'm not sure that's possible. For many MAGA asshats, "woke" means any attempt at diversity or representation. The fact that the host is black and that there are brown people in the show, plus brown children? Raise the alarm, it's one of those woke liberal shows!

Unfortunately it's probably already "too woke" because of the host. They'd quite honestly find the original show too "woke" as well.

I was a babysitter in the 80s & 90s and had some families who banned the original because LeVar Burton is black.

Yeah, I've known families like that. Best friend's aunts would change the channel if they saw a black person on TV. The existence of brown people is enough for some to take offense.
