Are you all upgrading their systems or hardware?

My dad had old pinball machines growing up. They were full sized ones!

It’s a poke at [personal profile] philstar22 and their job. They’re coming as ICE agents.

It’s also crude and in bad taste.

It was a mixed bag! Mostly sunny day with a light rain now. I love rain, so it's good.
Park was mostly closed on a big renovation, so that sucked. Still had a good time

I'm not Catholic, but things like this make me glad the new Pope is an American and we have a figure with real compassion.
People actually got mad when he said you can't be pro-life and support treating immigrants this way. Clown country.

They're a drain on memory and lack real privacy features.

I don't think it's AO3, it feels like an extension of social media culture. I'm an artist and there's a similar pressure to "just draw something" to get likes and retweets with little effort. It sucks.

NAYRT - I know of Catholics who voted for him, and I really hope his stance is giving them pause.

I'm working on a Christine costume from The Phantom of the Opera; this one.

https://64.media.tumblr.com/a6f10d424661b39d5fcf624e667fab22/75bd8f0fa8e7d784-7a/s1280x1920/3bc8ef52a75fca32dd5c12e6fdd7541a0286daa1.jpg

I've made a couple others, but this is the first one where I gave up and hired someone to do part of it that was making me nuts; I've procrastinated for more than a decade about it because I just couldn't do a good job.

I just got the fabric back from the print/embroidery shop and omfg from what I can see they did an amazing job with the embroidery. It took them almost 4x as long as their initial estimate, but I honestly would've been shocked if they'd finished embroidering along both selvedges of 14 yards of fabric in 3 weeks.

Now I get to cut along the outline of 28 yards of embroidered scallop before sewing it into a dress; no sleep for me!

Oh wow, you should share when you finish! That is an amazing dress and a big undertaking (or at least seems monumental to my non-sewing self.)

I'm so sorry for you, for him, for everyone dealing with ICE bullshit, and honestly for our country, or at least the part of it that wants no part in persecuting immigrants/anyone brown/anyone with a noticeable accent.

Good luck to you both.

My real plans are for the day before, so I'm wearing my costume out then... on the day I will likely be watching scary movies with my sisters, eating popcorn and candy.

(Anonymous) 2025-10-11 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Watched it last night, don't think you have to worry about there being other female mains - Dixie (LeAnn Rimes), Cammie (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), Roxie (Juani Feliz), Taylor (Hailey Kilgore). Of course, Blythe (Capshaw) didn't interact with any of them last night. But I could see the makings of some good drama if she ended up with Dixie, the mother of the son Blythe's husband fathered when they were separated; Cammie, her sister-in-law; or Roxie or Taylor, her husband's firefighters that have a significant age gap with Blythe.

I learned that Jude Law had a main role in a historically inaccurate and insulting movie that harmed real people by promoting wrong ideas and stereotypes and teaching viewers wrong ideas about history. His Watson is dead for me now. No, I can't separate art from reality when art has his face.

Henry Cavill both looks and acting is so boring. I'm going to give the new Wicher a chance now. I saw Hemsworth and I don't understand why everybody hates him. Witcher's been a clown show that's not faithful to books since forever, it's not going to be any worse with the new actor.
I like Cavill as a person but seeing him on screen gets a nope from me. I even left the cinema in the middle of Superman VS Batman because I couldn't take this movie anymore.

I started a rewatch of TNG but everyone looks so old and wrinkly. I used to ship Picard and Q but wasn't exsited about them this time. Is it that the screens became huge? Is it that I became old and started noticing ageing signs that I didn't noticed when I was young? No idea. It all feels dated, characters look old, plots simple and presictable.

At least I still like TOS even though it's ancient. McCoy/Spock, anyone?

Just came back an hour ago. It was good and the best installation was a field of bouncing "fireflies".

Hard to find parking because there was so much people and the Running Lights race was going on in the city center at the same time.

My office does costumes too. I might pull out my Sister of Sin nun outfit and corpse paint again or I'll smear some fake blood and bruises to pair with my roller derby gear. We'll see.

I liked the SW sequels in general. Yes, there was too much copying of the OT, but there was still some uniqueness and some of the characters, like Rey, really shone. But I cannot stand Poe. A poor attempt at copying the success of Han, but he lacks almost all of Han's charm and ability to instantly judge a situation. Even aside from his plot in TLJ, which should have gotten him court-martialed. Poe just wasn't a well written character at all.

Unless you have a particular reason for wanting to be vague, can you go ahead and name the movie in question? Otherwise I'll just use a generic photo of Jude Law, because I have no idea what movie this was.

Thanks!

I wasn't sure, but maybe you can include in the secret that I watched the clip on Youtube Correcting Every Historical Inaccuracy in 'Enemy at the Gates', the film is Enemy at the Gates. I don't want to be too political, it's just that I liked Jude Law before learning all the controversy around the movie. Not trying to preach or educate anyone.
